Absorbent A-8 is a mixture of hydrocarbons produced in the isoprene production process by the two-stage dehydrogenation of isopentane. It consists of aliphatic with aromatic hydrocarbons. It is used as a raw material for refineries. It is a mixture of hexane fraction and isopentane fraction. According to the test report the density is 0.648 g/cm3 at 15 oC, the octane number is 76.8, the octane number is 72.9. The product was tested as Gasoline Stable. Produced as a cheaper alternative to the hexane fraction. Used as a base for motor gasoline. It is shipped from the refinery in rail and road tankers.
